Long before the development of tourism, Champagny was a mountain community of modest resources that gave him agriculture and pastures. These hamlets scattered to the glaciers of the feet often remained isolated. To preserve its unique environment, very early, the village participated in the creation of the Vanoise National Park and later connected it to Plange, one of the largest ski area, becoming a tidy resort summer and winter, without thereby losing its soul.
